Hey guys, here’s a list I compiled of some of the movies I won’t be watching anytime soon as a result of the plot, acting performance or just simply, the right movie but wrong fit. Remember, I haven’t watched any of these movies. These are formulated opinions from watching the trailers and reading some reviews. Mostly watching trailers.
1. No Good Deed- *Yawn* Hey look! It’s a bad guy posing as good guy *Gets list of all movies having the exact plot*...countless. This movie is nothing to write home about, I’ve seen it a million times in other movies and nothing about it grabs me. Someone please tell me what was really going on in the minds of those writers.
2. Annabelle- By the way I do not watch horror films but by the looks of what I’ve seen from the trailer.... it’s not scary. Yes, I sat through the entire thing. Okay, I take that back. I revisited their main site just now and it’s hella scary. Moving on....quickly.
3. The Equalizer- Hold on, a black superhero without the cape? That doesn't sit too well with me. You see, I don’t have a problem with the plot, I have a problem with Denzel playing a “super” hero. Honestly, I’d prefer seeing Idris Elba, Columbus Short or Jamie Foxx playing this role. I adore Denzel Washington, but not this time.
4. Beyond the Lights- Absolutely nothing special from the trailers that I’ve seen. Not to mention, the strained performance by the supporting actor (Nate Parker) and the dull and subpar acting by Gugu Mbatha-Raw (lead actress). It’s just that this movie reminds me of all the other “rose to fame, died by hardcore drugs” celeb biographies.
5. Two Night Stand- Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy kiss girl, happy ending. An online hook-up turns into a morning-after disaster; how many times have we heard this plot before? *scoff* Cliché, mushy, love story with an all-time predictable ending.
