Movies I Won’t Be Watching Anytime Soon

Hey guys, here’s a list I compiled of some of the movies I won’t be watching anytime soon as a result of the plot, acting performance or just simply, the right movie but wrong fit. Remember, I haven’t watched any of these movies. These are formulated opinions from watching the trailers and reading some reviews. Mostly watching trailers.

1. No Good Deed- *Yawn* Hey look! It’s a bad guy posing as good guy *Gets list of all movies having the exact plot*...countless. This movie is nothing to write home about, I’ve seen it a million times in other movies and nothing about it grabs me. Someone please tell me what was really going on in the minds of those writers.

2. Annabelle- By the way I do not watch horror films but by the looks of what I’ve seen from the trailer.... it’s not scary. Yes, I sat through the entire thing. Okay, I take that back. I revisited their main site just now and it’s hella scary. Moving on....quickly.

3. The Equalizer- Hold on, a black superhero without the cape? That doesn't sit too well with me. You see,  I don’t have a problem with the plot, I have a problem with Denzel playing a “super” hero. Honestly, I’d prefer seeing Idris Elba, Columbus Short or Jamie Foxx playing this role. I adore Denzel Washington, but not this time.

4.
Beyond the Lights- Absolutely nothing special from the trailers that I’ve seen. Not to mention, the strained performance by the supporting actor (Nate Parker) and the dull and subpar acting by Gugu Mbatha-Raw (lead actress). It’s just that this movie reminds me of all the other “rose to fame, died by hardcore drugs” celeb biographies.

5. Two Night Stand- Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy kiss girl, happy ending. An online hook-up turns into a morning-after disaster; how many times have we heard this plot before? *scoff* Cliché, mushy, love story with an all-time predictable ending.

A Simple Plan Review

Movie: A Simple Plan
Release Date: December 1998
Starring: Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, Brent Briscoe, Chelcie Ross.

Lordt Jesas, the length people will go through for MONEY. The love of dough is surely the root of all evil.

A Simple Plan isn't really that simple when Hank and Jacob Mitchell, who along with their friend Lue screw up a plan to hide a large sum of money, discovered from a crashed plane- until the appropriate time to spend it.

This movie reminds me of a serious version of "The LadyKillers". Much like the comedy, things can only get worse, as distrust and greed creep into the minds of the principals. The three men find it incredibly difficult to keep a secret of this magnitude.

Let's just sit and talk about Hank's wife (Bridget Fonda) for a bit, I consider her to be the gas in all of this, (you know Supligen, mhm). As I'm watching, my thoughts directly links her to Adam's wife, Eve. #BibleTalk

Billy Bob Thornton plays the most outstanding role I've ever seen, as did Bill Paxton. Undertaking an unparalleled sibling pair.

The suspense, drama-driven movie did no wrong in my book. I LOVED it! 8.5/10

Dallas Buyer's Club Movie Review

I couldn't have imagined the diet that McConaughey had to endure to take on this role; but once we get past McConaughey’s stunning transformation, we’re transfixed by a performance that reminds us of why this guy became a movie star in the first place-RR

The movie sets in Texas with McConaughey portraying the life of electrician Ron Woodroof, a hard-core drug and sex addict diagnosed with HIV-AIDS in the mid-1980’s. A period in which the virus was highly stigmatized and under-researched. With a 30-day death sentence hanging over his head, he begins aggressively exploring alternative meds. He then soon unwittingly becomes an advocate and activist, even as he kept himself alive for years longer than any medical experts had told him he could.

Woodroof was also, this story tells us, a bigoted redneck who bristled with more than just fear of mortality when he got his diagnosis. Dallas Buyers Club is not just about Woodroof going up against the FDA and Big Pharmaceutical Companies and the other institutions and individuals who kept potentially life-saving drugs from sick people who needed them; it is of course also about Woodroof's growth as a human being, and how this growth allows him to work side by side with a flamboyant transsexual, a person he not only wouldn't have given the time of day to in his prior mode of life, but possibly would have given a beat-down to -GK

Jared Leto gave a “razzle-dazzle” performance as he disappears into the role of Rayon (the flamboyant transsexual). Co-starring Jennifer Garner (Dr. Eve), Dallas Buyer’s Club is an inspiration to the gay community.

9.5/10.
